Tampa announces Santa parade, tree lighting celebration downtown

Get ready, Tampa! The festive spirit returns to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Saturday, December 7, as Santa Fest 2024 brings a full day of holiday fun, capped by the highly anticipated Tampa Tree Lighting ceremony. This event also pairs with the popular Winter Village.

The celebrations begin with a lively parade through downtown, starting at 1 pm. The parade launches from Morgan Street and Madison Street, winding west along Madison before heading north on Ashley Drive and concluding near Cass Street. Madison Street offers prime viewing spots for families to enjoy the holiday cheer.

A festival of lights and music in the heart of Tampa

After the parade, festivities continue at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park from 1 pm to 4 pm as Santa Fest comes to life with entertainment, holiday activities, and a chance to meet Santa himself. This family-friendly event promises a festive afternoon full of joy and community spirit.

The excitement builds into the evening with the annual Tampa Tree Lighting ceremony, starting at 6 pm. Join Mayor Jane Castor and Santa Claus as they light up downtown, casting a magical glow across the park and officially kicking off Tampa’s holiday season.
