The Tampa Bay Rays are set to make George M. Steinbrenner Field (1 Steinbrenner Dr) their home for the 2025 season, bringing exciting upgrades, new features, and fan-friendly experiences to the ballpark. With Opening Day just around the corner (this Friday!!), here’s what fans can expect from the Rays’ temporary home in Tampa.

Since spring training wrapped up, a dedicated team of over 80 staff members and 50 installers has been working tirelessly to rebrand Steinbrenner Field with Rays colors and imagery. More than 3,000 individual pieces of marketing materials—stretching over a mile if laid out—have been installed, ensuring that the ballpark truly feels like home for Tampa Bay’s baseball fans. It’s pretty wild to see the Rays banner hanging over the baselines.

Fireworks, light shows, and more planned for the 2025 season

For games starting at 4:10 p.m. or later, fans will enjoy dazzling light and sound shows and fireworks displays presented by Orlando Health. These displays will celebrate every Rays home run and victory. The season will also feature unique giveaways, including bobbleheads, tropical shirts, branded hats, and towels. We’re still rocking our super cozy Ray hoodie.

The season opener on March 28 will kick off with a pregame flyover by the 6th Air Refueling Wing from MacDill Air Force Base during the National Anthem, setting the stage for an electrifying start to the Rays’ 2025 campaign.
