It’s finally time for opening day at the Tampa Baseball Museum. This hub celebrating the legacy of Major League Baseball in the Tampa Bay region officially opens to the public on Saturday, September 25.
The day will feature a special edition of Homeruns & History, there will be family-friendly games and celebrations for the opening of the Tampa Baseball Museum.

Hall of Famers arrive at Tampa Baseball Museum
Tampa Baseball Museum’s Grand Opening will be hosted by Hall-of-Famer and iconic Tampa resident Lou Pinella, and Mayor Jane Castor will be present to address the media and attendees.
This Fourth Annual Homeruns & History celebration will run from 10am-3pm in Ybor City’s Centennial Park and the Ybor City Museum State Park Garden.
Homeruns & History is a free family-friendly event that celebrates the rich history of the game in the Tampa Bay region and will feature autographs by Major and Minor League Baseball alumni.
Right next to the Ybor City Saturday Market
Activities include a question and answer session with a panel of high school coaches, team mascots and street teams, games, and shopping at the Ybor City Saturday Market. Also featured are baseball-inspired food, music, fun and camaraderie celebrating the sport. Attendees are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing their uniforms, favorite team apparel or other baseball-themed gear.
