It’s not often I find myself in Bradenton, much less with time to kill. Out of my element, craving caffeine, and searching for something intimate, I surfed the web until I landed on Spinning Coffee. I didn’t know anything about this place before going, but, from the pictures I viewed online, I knew the interior seating would be enough to satiate the supplemental time on my hands.
To my very pleasant surprise, Spinning Coffee proved to be even more charming than the images I perused online. Its quaint space, thoughtful layout, and delicious coffee were more than enough to get me settled into the book I’ve been reading for far too long.

But that’s not what I loved most about this new coffee shop, which opened only a month ago. From the far end of the coffee shop, one can find music emitting from a record player. Gathered ‘round this sound orifice, music junkies and coffee addicts alike can browse Spinning Coffee’s generous selection of vinyl. I just happen to be both. To make things even sweeter than the iced Vietnamese coffee I was sipping on, the vinyls themselves were all for sale.

I asked the owner, a kind Vietnamese man, how much it would cost to buy one. He told me that he would make the price up on the spot. I left Spinning Coffee with a smile upon my face and three records cradled in my arms (Jim Croce, Van Halen, and The Eagles). On my way out, the owner gave me a tour of his record store, which was in the store adjacent to Spinning Coffee. It was there that I realized that Spinning Coffee is part business, part passion project, and part cultural experience.
While I am seldom in Bradenton, I have made a mental note to revisit Spinning Coffee every time that I am in the area, which I hope is soon. You can find them at 515 36th St W E in Bradenton. Follow them on Instagram to see the latest.
