Saigon Night Market has quickly become the must-attend foodie event in Tampa Bay. The recurring assemblage of the very best chefs and bakers in the region typically takes place at Little Saigon Plaza (14100 US Hwy 19 N) in Clearwater. On January 20. the organizers have big plans for a Lunar New Year Festival – and it will take place on January 20 from 2pm-10pm, and January 21 from 1pm-9pm at England Brothers Park (5010 81st Ave N, Pinellas Park). Tickets to the event are available online.
The festivities will include fun carnival rides (swings, rock wall, carousel), a big lion and dragon dance, and a pho eating contest. Come hungry, folks, and you might just leave as a champion. There will be children’s activities, raffles, DJ and artist performances, and over 80 multi-cultural vendors offering food, crafts, and handmade art.
Celebrate the Lunar New Year during a two-day festival
“Lunar New Year is a vibrant and culturally significant celebration that marks the beginning of the lunar calendar,” write the event organizers behind the Saigon Night Market. “This event is steeped in tradition and holds great importance for many Asian communities…it is a time for families to come together, pay respects to ancestors, and welcome the new year with various customs and rituals, including the exchange of red envelopes, dragon and lion dances, and indulging in special foods.”
The Lunar New Year symbolizes a fresh start and the hope for prosperity, happiness, and good fortune in the year ahead — so kick off 2024 right while celebrating the reason why Tampa Bay is one of the most celebrated regions in America right now.
Saigon Night Market’s most recent event attracted more than 8,000 attendees — and this major Lunar New Year event could easily eclipse that record. Follow Saigon Night Market on Facebook for updates on all of their upcoming events.
