Hyde Park Village is already one of the best destinations for dining and entertainment in the city of Tampa. The first Sunday of each month it plays host to a big Fresh Market with local vendors. There’s also a flower shop, a cupcake ATM, a huge co-working space, an art gallery, a shop for artisan popsicles and another for gourmet ice cream. You can even make your own scent at The Candle Pour. Now the neighborhood is home to a new innovative Asian restaurant called ro by Three Oaks Hospitality located at 1500 W Swann Avenue.
With a dedication to sourcing only the most premium ingredients, daily deliveries from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market will ensure the freshest and most authentic fish, allowing for the preservation of distinct flavors in traditional dishes, according to a press release.

Chef Kiichi Okabe, a multi-Michelin-starred Japanese chef brings unparalleled expertise and passion to ro. Known for an innovative fusion of traditional and modern techniques, Chef Kiichi’s creations not only tantalize the palate but also tell a story. Guests can enjoy immersive tableside presentations like the Peking duck which must be ordered three days in advance due to its meticulous preparation process, grill their own A5 Japanese Wagyu on hot stones, opt for an omakase element, or indulge in caviar service.
Three Oaks expands with Ro in Tampa’s top neighborhood
“We create spaces that cultivate our local neighborhoods – they aren’t just restaurants and bars – but rather gathering places that foster meaningful interactions and conversations,” writes the Three Oaks Hospitality ownership team. For the uninitiated, Three Oaks is behind some of the most acclaimed restaurants in Tampa including Steelbach at Armature Works, Stones Throw in Tampa Heights, and Ciro’s Speakeasy.
“Our approach to hospitality has always been beyond the food and service,” said owner and founder Chas Bruck. “Our drive and passion come from a place to be innovative and forward-thinking by bringing something different and unique to Tampa.”
Make sure you’re following the restaurant on Instagram for an official opening date. The group also has plans for a major Harbour Island Project.
