On March 2, Publix reopened at the Gandy Shopping Center in Tampa. The popular near 60,000-square-foot store is located at 3617 W. Gandy Boulevard and is a full ground-up replacement for the original market. This new and improved super market brings the grocery giant’s ever popular Pours Cafe to one of the most highly trafficked stretches in the city.
“We are excited to reopen this much-anticipated store,” said Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager, in a statement to Winsight Grocery Business. “We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to their Gandy Publix, introducing them to an array of new offerings and providing them with the service and quality products they know and love.”

Publix adds cafe, burrito and pizza stations
Our friends at Kahwa Coffee were on hand during the grand opening to showcase the new in-store cafe. Pours offers Kahwa coffee, smoothies, flavored fizz drinks and açaí bowls, in addition to craft beer and wine that you can sip on while you shop. The cafe area also has seating where you can post up and get some work done. The Pours Cafe near Water Street Tampa is one of my go-to satellite offices.
That’s not all. The new and improved Publix features a fantastic burrito bowl station, tasty pizza, and and a grab-and-go sushi spot. There’s a pharmacy and an adjacent liquor store at this Publix, as well. Visit the Publix website for a full view of its offerings.
