Chef Chris Ponte is renowned for his restaurants On Swann in Hyde Park Village and Olivia Restaurant. The Chef announced his newest venture, Ponte Tampa, back in the summer of 2021. This anticipated foodie concept officially debuted at the end of November, and is now the talk of the always buzzing Midtown Tampa. Those interested in visiting can book reservations online.
“As the second coming of Cafe Ponte, both new and longtime patrons will welcome this updated take,” wrote Chef Chris Ponte in an announcement on Instagram. “[Ponte Tampa] will be offering an elegant array of Modern American cuisine, including a premium selection of steaks and local seafood.”

Ponte Tampa joins a stacked roster of small businesses at Midtown
Photos posted on Ponte Tampa showcase a huge wraparound bar with a remarkable wine selection. Chris Ponte has worked to craft a phenomenal menu for the booming Midtown crowd. Recent foodie features include Ponte’s carrot cake with cardamom spice, walnut crisp, cheesecake pudding, and butterscotch sauce, and salted caramel profiteroles.
Beloved Chef Matt Micenec, who many may remember from Cafe Ponte, is currently working at OLIVIA Restaurant. Micenec is set to join the Ponte Tampa team now that it’s officially open. We are all for giving these culinary masterminds room to experiment in our ever-growing dining scene.
Midtown is quickly evolving into a key food and drink destination in the Tampa Bay region. Recent restaurant announcements at Midtown include Walk Ons Sports Bistreaux, Colony Grill, and True Food Kitchen. William Dean Chocolates also made a surprise splash at the beginning of February in the neighborhood.
