White Castle, the popular burger hub with locations across the country, opened its very first Florida restaurant in Orlando on May 3, 2021, and it is the largest White Castle in the world. After a very successful year in Orlando, White Castle is now expanding to 24 hour service for summer 2022, and will add online ordering, and delivery in the area.
On opening day it seemed the line of cars eager to try a famous slider stretched on for miles. The owners anticipate they serve more than 5 million sliders before their official one year anniversary.
The quaint concept gained national notoriety in the early aughts when the film “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” hit screens. It’s since become a cult hit, and with its cinematic status has created a generation of folks endeared to the palm-sized sliders. Yes, White Castle is also the fast food joint where you can get a brief case (crave case) full of burgers.
White Castle serves more than 5 million sliders in its first year in Orlando
The chain is located right outside Disney World. The space measures 4,567 square feet, and employs more than 120 people in the Orlando area. White Castle’s menu also offers up Impossible sliders, chicken and waffle sliders, clam strips, mozzarella sticks, and butter cake on a stick.
White Castle opened its very first location in 1921 and is credited as America’s first fast food chain. Today it operates 377 locations across 13 states.
