Jimbo’s Pit Bar B-Q has served renowned BBQ to regulars and visitors alike for over 50 years. Using in-house rubs and BBQ sauces, the oakwood smoked meats are freshly cooked in two on-site smokers that run 24/7—all day and all night, laureling Jimbo’s as one of the best BBQ joints in Tampa Bay. Located at 4103 West Kennedy Blvd, Jimbo’s BBQ Pit is open Mon-Sat, 7am-9pm. The BBQ joint is right across the street from another TST staff favorite, Sucre Table.

Jimbo’s is and always will be a family business. “The family is always here,” says Joseph Lehman. “Controlling quality, quantity. Keeping an eye on the baby. Don’t drop the baby,” he laughs.

You certainly don’t want to drop anything at Jimbo’s. Succulent ribs and chopped pork (the pork is smoked for 8-10 hours until tender and falling apart) are major favorites amongst the restaurant’s most loyal customers.

One reviewer writes, “This is Home Town BBQ. I have been coming here for years and it is always great food and great service…”

Jimbo’s also serves classic, affordable breakfasts

Beyond BBQ, Jimbo’s serves classic breakfast staples: mouthwatering stacks of pancakes, omelets, and of course, biscuits and sausage gravy. And the prices are always right: 3 slices of French toast, $8.30, breakfast sandwich, $6.99, and a build-your-own omelet, $8.00 flat.

“We were here so early for smoking,” says Joseph, “we figured we’d start serving breakfast.”
