Sucré Table may be one of the best cafes in the entire city of Tampa. Beyond the ivy aesthetic and fragrance of fresh roasted coffee beans, this locally owned bakery and coffee shop is home to the very best desserts and pastries in the city. Renowned pastry chef Brenda Villacorta is behind the concept, and brings her passion for pastries to our ever growing community. The brick-and-mortar originally opened in 2020, and just a couple of years it has grown into a must visit destination for foodies in the area.
Spellbinding desserts on its rotating menu have included Sucré’s version of Strawberry Shortcake, a picture perfect blend of Japanese cheese cake, with creme brulee, and strawberry champagne jelee. Villacorta recently pushed her transfixing, flakey and savory pistachio croissant. Mango cheesecake, lavender blackberry rose cupcakes, and Galette des Rois have all featured on the menu, too.
Sucre Table crafts carnations you can eat
Want beautiful bouquets and orchids made of sugar? This bakery can bring the carnations to sweet life for your next cake. The artistry on display here is unparalleled — it’s the kind of dessert that’s almost a shame to stick a fork into.
Prior to owning Sucré Table, Brenda trained in New York City with world-renowned culinary experts including Jean George and pastry chef Dominique Ansel. She previously served as Head Pastry Cook at Le Bernardin. Le Bernardin boasts three Michelin stars and ranks as one of the best dining experiences in the world.
A lifelong passion for baking
Brenda continuously appears on top TV networks and culinary shows. She is a Food Network Challenge Winner, bringing the title home twice. Brenda continues to aid in the development of Sugar Art Studio, which specializes in sugar flowers, chocolate art, pastries and cake design.
Her mother Giovanna Smith started the business upon immigrating from Peru. Brenda credits her mother for her love of creating culinary masterpieces. In addition to her professional experience, Brenda is a proud graduate of The Culinary Institute of America.
