One of Tampa’s newest food trucks has something for everybody. Promising a “Battle of the Proteins,” Faux & Fowl is a specialty crispy chicken sandwich truck that provides all its offerings in either carnivore or vegan formats, all cooked and prepared separately to avoid cross-contamination.
Opened by a duo on opposite sides of the meat aisle, Faux & Fowl made its debut in Tampa this October and has become a fast hit on the brewery and market circuit. We definitely recommend following along on facebook to catch them at their next stop.

While the new concept welcomes carnivores and herbivores alike, it does cater to one particular palate: those who love savory indulgences. Each of their sandwiches are available in chicken or plant-based chicken varieties, and they all come packed with sloppy goodness.
A glance at a recent menu is tantalizing. The “Not Your Average Chick” comes topped with Japanese BBQ, gouda, lettuce, scallions, and a kimchi slaw. The jalapeno popper-inspired “What’s Poppin” is a shredded protein of your choice topped with cream cheese, jalapenos, crispy onions, lettuce, fried avocado, and a sweet Thai chili sauce.
The Hot Chick (topped with fried ranch pickles) speaks for itself, and you can also keep it basic with the Chick Please: a crispy chicken sandwich topped with lettuce and pickles.
Faux & Fowl also dishes up a solid offering of sides, including vegan or carnivore corn dogs. You can also opt for seasoned fries, chicken sliders, chicken fingers, or crispy cauliflower. The food truck also has a mix of house-made drinks available.
We love seeing a food truck that caters to a variety of diets, and this one in particular will be entertaining (and helpful) for those who have diverse diets in their dining groups. And no matter which side of the menu you order from, we can all agree, those sandwiches look great.
