Davis Islands businesses work to rebuild and reopen after Hurricane Helene

flood damage in city

Hurricane Helene hit Tampa Bay hard, leaving a trail of destruction. While many businesses struggle to recover, the community has rallied to support those most affected. From food and water to shelter and electricity, local leaders, business owners, and residents have stepped up to help. Davis Islands businesses, beloved by locals, are picking up the pieces, with several still seeking support.

Bake’n Babes, famous for its giant cookies and extravagant milkshakes, faces major challenges after its location flooded. The owners recently shared an update, stating that their insurance won’t cover damages caused by the storm. In response, they’ve launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for repairs and to replace lost equipment, including ovens, commercial fridges, and freezers. Every donation, no matter the size, helps them rebuild and eventually reopen.
