Tampa, are you ready for more tacos and tequila? So am I. Catrina’s Tacos and Tequila Bar has long teased its official arrival at 1611 North Howard Avenue, but now it appears we’re just a few weeks out from the official opening.
The restaurant announced in a January 5 Facebook post that they’d open within the next few weeks. Creative Loafing then reported that restaurant would begin its soft opening on January 17.

Catrina’s is an innovative counter service restaurant with a made-to-order concept and little private speakeasy vault room. The restaurant boasts the largest tequila selection in Tampa.
Their traditional cuisine showcases chiles en nogada originated in Puebla Mexico, delicious and fresh Mexican sea food, slow-roasted pibil from the Mayan Peninsula and huitlacoche (a delicacy blue corn truffle) with a touch of Chef Tisbeth Mejia’s artsy and colorful unique elaboration.
I’m just counting down the days until I can sink my teeth into the sizzling molcajete at Catrina’s.
Will you visit Catrina’s when it officially opens later this month?
This opening follows the arrival of Jimmy’s Tacos in Ybor City.
