Tampa is a city of readers, and there’s a new bookstore coming soon to Historic Ybor City: Bookends. Owners and Tampa natives Laurie and Teresa Rodriguez secured a structure in Ybor City for the future home of Bookends: Literature & Libations. Renovations began summer 2022, with a planned opening in 2023. The shop will open at 2208 E 2nd Avenue – you can support the shop online, and follow their journey on Instagram.
Ahead of the brick and mortar debut, Bookends has hit the road in their mobile bookstore. The shop recently popped up at Six Ten Brewing, and will next appear at Circa 1949 on June 25. Starting July 1, Book Ends will be at the Ybor City Saturday Market from 9am to 1pm most Saturdays through September. The shop will have books, with a spotlight on books about Florida and by Florida authors, as well as baked goods for sale.

Their menu of baked goods appear as tantalizing as the literature they stock on their shelves. While the shop may not be open just yet, you can still support this local bookstore on Bookshop.org. There, you can order books to be shipped direct to your home.
