Big Storm Brewing is ready to open its brand new Ybor City location this weekend. Located at 1600 E 7th Ave, #2, Big Storm’s new 11,000-square-foot taproom and restaurant will feature its first-ever “storm cellar” to showcase its liquors. This is a big weekend to debut in Ybor. The area will host the annual Knight Parade Saturday night, and of course Sunday is the Super Bowl. There’s a reason they’re called Big Storm.
Founded in 2012, Big Storm Brewing Co. has locations in Clearwater, Odessa, Cape Coral, and Orlando. Their tagline is “Florida Craft Beer Forecast” and they stick to this by crafting a dynamic lineup of Florida favorites like Tropic Pressure Golden Ale, steeped with hibiscus flowers, and Bromosa Tangerine IPA, brewed with all-natural tangerine puree.

The brewers have branched beyond beer and launched Big Storm Distillery. It was born with a mission to create world-class spirits with a local flair. While they specialize in brews, Big Storm is no slouch when it comes to good eats. Some top tier menu items include the chorizo sausage and smoked bacon flatbread, blackened mahi mahi tacos, fish and chips, and BBQ brisket.
“We are lucky to be in such a prime location right in the heart of the Centro Ybor district,” said L.J. Govoni, co-owner of Big Storm Brewing. “We’re grateful to our landlord for working with us over the past two years to make this space truly something special to honor Ybor’s history and bright future.”
With this newest location, Big Storm now has taprooms in Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough Counties, so Tampa Bay fans can enjoy several different ambiances, sipping signature drinks and brews like Wavemaker, Bromosa, Sunny Key Lime, and Tropic Pressure. Big Storm also has taprooms in Orlando and Cape Coral.
