A bookstore and vintage shop just opened in Seminole Heights

The Far Forest is a new bookstore and vintage shop in the booming Seminole Heights neighborhood — and you can visit it at 6611 North Nebraska Avenue. This enchanting small business debuted in 2020, and offers handpicked vintage books, sustainable fashion, local art and home decor, and locally handcrafted self care products for you to bring home.

“Our dream is to be a place where we can gather and share ideas, listen to music and book readings,” notes The Far Forest team. In times like these when we are partitioned off from one another, it’s through the exchange of art and books that we remain connected. All are welcome in The Far Forest.

All are welcome at The Far Forest

Neil Gaiman once wrote that “a town is not a town without a bookstore.” The Far Forest is the epitome of that sentiment. Whether you’re scouring for the classics, want to take a deep dive into UFO literature, are seeking poetry or chapter upon chapter of horror,

“We started this little biz as a creative outlet/way to fuel our treasure hunting addiction,” said The Far Forest crew. .”We’ve had so much fun meeting fellow book, record, and vintage fashion enthusiasts at Indie Flea, curating a booth full of rescued vintage at D&D Antiques, and getting to know other like-minded hustlers who inspire us to keep pushing.”

A summer debut in Tampa

The Seminole Heights gem officially opened in June 2020, several months into the global pandemic. While they had hoped The Far Forest would serve as a community gathering space, the owners have pivoted and offered live streaming events on Facebook and Instagram to engage with the local community.

This holiday season, we encourage you to think local and shop small. Independent businesses in Tampa need your support now more than ever before. Every dollar you spend at a Tampa-owned business goes directly toward uplifting and sustaining our local economy.
