Tampa’s current new restaurant boom is great, but there’s already so much to love about our city’s oldest establishments. Danny’s All-American Diner is about as old school as it gets, and goddamn if it isn’t great. The Daily Meal recently released a list of the 75 Best Hole-In-The-Wall Restaurants in America, and included Danny’s on the list. It was the only spot in Florida to make the cut.

What makes this diner and dairy so exceptional? For starters, the Triple D Triple Play — a dish inspired by the mayor of Flavortown, Guy Fieri.
It features a 6.5-ounce fresh-ground patty topped with slow-roasted pork, pastrami, Swiss, American, tomatoes, jalapeños, onion ring and mustard on sourdough. Fieri crafted the treat while filming an episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

The Daily Meal also sang the praises of Danny’s killer Cuban Sandwich. The small shack of a place has a surprisingly expansive menu. Grab any variation on the classic burger here, Danny’s are basically meat towers, have a seat at one of their picnic tables and enjoy a Tampa classic.
Menu items of note include a killer Philly cheesesteak, a panini pressed grilled cheese featuring American, Swiss and cheddar on buttery Cuban bread, a polish sausage grinder, and of course their massive footlong chili dogs.
Save room for dessert because the extra thick strawberry milkshake is a summer treat dream come true.
