Known for its mission of uplifting romance writers from underrepresented backgrounds, Steamy Lit announced its new location on Instagram, promising to bring its signature experience to this cozy spot.
Steamy Lit’s expansion is an exciting addition to Tampa’s literary scene. Dedicated to amplifying voices of women romance authors of color and non-binary or genderqueer authors, the bookstore creates a space that celebrates self-love and open discussions on sexuality. Readers can expect a curated selection of inclusive romance novels and thoughtfully crafted book boxes that make each visit memorable.

Founded by romance enthusiast Mel Saavedra, Steamy Lit’s roots are personal. “I am a proud Latina, Navy Veteran, and dog mom,” writes Saavedra. “I’m also an avid reader of steamy romance. The more a book makes me clench my thighs, the better.”
Opening just in time for the holiday season
Opening on December 1, Steamy Lit offers a unique gift destination that gives back. With each purchase, a portion of proceeds supports organizations aligned with the bookstore’s mission of empowerment, making each book a gift that resonates beyond the page.
Set within Procure’s all-women’s space, Steamy Lit will occupy half of the shop, providing a vibrant home for romance enthusiasts to explore, connect, and celebrate the genre. With its Tampa opening, Steamy Lit invites locals to embrace a new chapter of romance, representation, and empowerment.
