The festivities would have included a big pre-game party in the plaza with live musical performances and a watch party.
While a new date for the Hurricanes-Lightning matchup remains unconfirmed, Tampa Bay will now kick off the season on the road, facing Carolina on Friday. The team traveled to Raleigh earlier this week to avoid the storm’s impact.

As a result, the Lightning’s home opener shifts to Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks. They will also host the Vegas Golden Knights on October 17.
