Duff’s Famous Wings is part of a long held debate about who invented Buffalo Wings. It was a certainly a pioneer in the coins and developed its own loyal following soon after. The restaurant has been a Buffalo staple for more than half a century, first opening its doors in 1946, and serving up its first wings in 1969. Since then, their famous wings have spread across the border to Toronto and as far south as Texas. Duff’s will pop up at GenX Tavern (103 East Jackson Street) in downtown Tampa on August 16 and 17.
Buffalo natives and chicken wing aficionados know that Duff’s Famous Wings perfected the wing, and now, for the first time, are offering them to the residents of Tampa for a very limited time at this unique pop up. Service will be dine in only, first come/first serve, and while supplies last. GenX Tavern will offer a limited menu of salads and burgers while Duff’s Famous Wings serves up their award winning wings and celebrated beef on weck sandwiches (sandwich made with roast beef on a kummelweck roll, a roll that is topped with kosher salt and caraway seeds).
