Opentable recently released a list of the most romantic restaurants in the country, and four Tampa foodie treasures made the list. The honors went to The Sacred Pepper, Ocean Prime, Charley’s Steakhouse, and Cooper’s Hawk Winery.

“Food is its own love language,” writes the Opentable editorial team. “For those looking for a quintessential Valentine’s Day dining experience, start with the most romantic restaurants across the US, created by analyzing over 13 million reviews.” Most of the restaurants that made the cut have received well over 4,000 reviews on the site, and average above 4.7. Opentable made their list by analyzing the top reviewed spots, and honing on keywords related to “romantic.”

4 Tampa restaurants make the most romantic cut

Sacred Pepper, 15405 N Dale Mabry Highway, is a dining destination where everything that happens around the table is considered sacred. “Best defined as Contemporary American with Italian flair, we’re a place where you can experience familiar favorites with fresh twists,” writes The Sacred Pepper’s ownership team. “We select the freshest meats and seafood. We make all our pastas and sauces from scratch. And our drinks take you around the world and throughout time as our bartenders explore cultures near and far with modern, traditional and pre-prohibition cocktails.”

The Sacred Pepper has received well over 5,000 reviews and has earned near perfect 5-star scores for its aesthetics and service.

Ocean Prime, 2205 N Westshore Blvd, is a nationally acclaimed, modern American restaurant and lounge from the award-winning Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. Stunning settings, an impressive menu of seafood & steaks, and genuine hospitality make Ocean Prime the ideal place to socialize, talk business, celebrate and indulge. Popular dishes at Ocean Prime include their lobster bisque, Chilean sea bass, and sea scallops.

A classic steak house feeds Tampa locals

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, 4110 W Boy Scout Blvd, combines modern, casual dining with award-winning, handcrafted wines. Their menu features fresh contemporary-American fare infused with flavors from around the world. This restaurant crafts addicting crisply Brussels sprouts, serves a mouth watering filet mignon, and has received more than 200 awards for its wine selection.

Charley’s Steak House, 4444 West Cypress Street, is billed as a classic chophouse delivering wood-fired aged beef, plus seafood and wine in a sophisticated space. After selling Red Lobster to General Mills in 1970, Charley and his son Ron Woodsby developed Talk of the Town Restaurants – the corporate parent to Charley’s Steak House. Over the years the Woodsby’s have become “beef aficionados” with a steadfast formula for success: feature only Midwest grain-fed USDA Prime & Choice beef, age on-site for 4 to 6 weeks, and have management cut meat daily and season for 30 hours to create distinctive flavor. The steak is then flame-grilled over a 1200° open pit, fueled with a combination of Florida citrus and oak wood. This carefully monitored process provides for quality, tenderness and a tantalizing taste that elevates Charley’s to the ultimate steakhouse experience.
