La Segunda, a legendary bakery in Tampa (now with a location in St. Pete), just acquired one of the most celebrated bakeries in the city. Faedo Family Bakery is renowned for its bread, and delicious guava pastries. The concept had been adjusting hours recently, and finding ways to continue serving the community through uncertain times. We’re happy to see one Tampa legend carrying the torch of another. Here’s the full announcement from La Segunda:
Located in Seminole Heights (5105 N. Florida Ave) the Faedo family has been (and still is!) a staple in the Cuban bread community. As a fellow “born and bread” multigenerational family, we are honored to carry on the tradition as well as extend our business in Seminole Heights. And no! This does not nor will it ever affect our flagship Ybor location — we plan on staying there for another 107 years.

For now this spot will be bread-only, but we will keep everyone posted on further developments.A HUGE thanks to all of our customers, family and friends for their unwavering support. We look forward to baking history in Seminole Heights!
No word yet on whether or not this will shift operation hours of the bakery in Seminole Heights. But you can follow La Segunda on Facebook for the latest updates. In case you missed it, La Segunda’s bread is now available in select Publix across the region.
