Cheers to the continued growth of Ybor City! Our historic area is about to get a beary good brew hub in the form of BarrieHaus Beer Co.

This isn’t BarrieHaus brewmaster Jim Barrie’s first rodeo. Brewing is in his DNA. The concept is inspired by Barrie’s great-great-great-grandfather Phillip Kling who founded Peninsular Brewing in 1863.

Phillip’s daughter married Louis Schimmel who founded Tivoli Brewing in 1897 in Michigan, according to an Instagram post from BarrieHaus. Tivoli wound up “creating one of the most iconic beers in Michigan during it’s time, the Altes Lager.”

That’s what Ybor’s BarrieHaus will be all about: Damn Fine Lagers.
