The old archway lights that adorned 7th Avenue in Ybor City for decades will be up for auction July 28 through August 11, 2023. You can view the items and bid online — just search under the Arts, Crafts, and Collectibles category to bid.
The decorative, lighted archways along 7th Avenue in Ybor City are iconic to the area. As a part of the city’s economic development focus, the archway lights underwent an aesthetic rejuvenation, and a converting to more environmentally sustainable technology.

Small, white lights, similar to those currently in place, were installed to be consistent with the current decorative archway lighting and to maintain the aesthetic character of the historic district. The new lights use LED technology. Officials had considered color changing lights, but the bulbs proved to be cost prohibitive.
The rejuvenation includes 21 archways made of aluminum, 34 feet long, and with a “Y” medallion in the center.
