2nd annual Tampa Derby Gallop

Celebrate the Kentucky Derby race in style by participating in the 2nd annual Tampa Derby Gallop – on Saturday, May 5 from 1-7pm – one of the most exciting Derby events in Tampa Bay with an all-you-can-eat lunch, derby inspired bar games, a watch party and $5 Mint Juleps. All participants will be transported by party busses to three of the event destinations – American Social, Ferg’s Live and Platt Street Borough. Tickets start at $45 with the proceeds benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charity of Tampa Bay.

Fourth Friday in Downtown Tampa
Celebrate the end of the week and the month’s end at Fourth Friday, starting at 4pm in the heart of downtown Tampa. This monthly celebration of Tampa’s rich arts and culture scene includes an evening of special offerings and programs by cultural venues, restaurants & more! Many restaurant and bar offerings extend beyond 9 pm. See this month’s schedule and special deals here. There is live local music at multiple locations; free admission, discounts and special offerings at participating arts and cultural partners; special food and drink deals from participating restaurants and bars as well as a sip and stroll on the Riverwalk. Picker Place 4-day market (All Weekend)
If you’re feeling crafty, head out to Picker Place Ybor anytime between 9am-6pm, starting Thursday, for a 4-day market held on the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month. Come browse the 10,000 sq feet of unique, eclectic, one of a kind vintage treasures that pickers have found and brought for you to discover at each market! Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
Head out to Amalie Arena at 3pm to cheer on the Tampa Bay Lighting as they play against the Boston Bruins for round 2, game 1 of the playoffs. Visit for tickets. Amalie Arena – 401 Channelside Dr. 

26th Annual PestoFesto
Sweetwater Organic Community Farm is celebrating a wonderful harvest with its 26th Annual PestoFesto Fundraising Party from 6-9pm. The PestoFesto is full of community spirit featuring its famous farm-fresh organic pesto pasta and salad, rolls, dessert, and juice. Locally-brewed beer, select wine, and organic coffee will be available by donation. This family-friendly event includes outdoor and basil themed activities as well as a silent auction, raffle prizes, kids activities and live music by the Juniper Trio starting at 7pm. 2nd Annual Let’s Beat Ovarian Cancer Run/Walk
Run For Purpose, Inc is fundraising to spread the message of ovarian cancer awareness with a 5K run and 1-mile walking course from 8-10:30am at Al Lopez Park. The race will be chip-timed and all competitors can enjoy a pint of beer and other refreshments at the finish line. All participants will receive a finisher’s medal and performance T-shirt along with an opportunity to win a free pair of Kenkoh Sandals. This race will benefit the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation (CMOCF) to help the community learn about early detection tests, prevention, community education, financial assistance and up and coming research. 5th Annual Tampa Bay Walk for Wishes
Join Make-A-Wish® supporters in the Tampa Bay community for this year’s Walk For Wishes® at Water Works Park to raise money to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses. Registration begins at 8:30am with the event starting at 9:30am. The registration fee for adults is $20 while children 8 and under are free. All registered participants receive an official event t-shirt. Water Works Park – 1710 N. Highland Ave.

Final Weekend of the Bush Gardens Food and Wine Festival (Saturday and Sunday)
For the final weekend of the Busch Gardens® Tampa Bay fourth annual Food & Wine Festival, guests can enjoy performances from “My House” singer Flo Rida and Billboard Alternative Chart #1 groups Kaleo and Bleachers while indulging in more than 100 savory culinary creations, brews, wine and cocktails. 17th Annual Seagrapes Wine & Food Festival
Join The Florida Aquarium for its 17th annual SeaGrapes Wine & Food Festival fundraising event, presented by Amalie Oil, from 8-11pm. VIP ticket holder entry will begin at 7 p.m. for early access to the food and drinks and entry into a special VIP area. For an additional price, attendees can purchase a ticket for a sunset cruise where 100% of the proceeds support the Florida Aquarium’s mission to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship of our natural environment. Sample 50+ wines and food from 20+ restaurants while strolling among more than 7,000 animals and plants plus live entertainment all throughout the Aquarium. Cocktail attire is recommended. Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Races
Watch as a crew of about 20 paddlers race against teams from across the globe as they paddle through the Garrison Channel at Tampa’s Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park and compete for a bronze, silver or gold team medal. Free Family Day at Tampa Museum of Art
The Tampa Museum of Art will offer “Isthmian Games Family Day” from 11am-4pm. Bring the entire family and learn how the ancient Greeks played sports back in their day.
