Alaska Airlines is set to bring back nonstop service to two of the West Coast’s top travel hotspots. Starting November 22, travelers can fly directly from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to San Francisco, and beginning November 23, nonstop service to Portland (PDX) will resume. This news follows the recent unveiling of TPA’s ambitious plans for the $1.5 billion Airside D project.
Tickets for these flights are available on Alaska Airlines’ website. There’s no official word on whether these flights will be year-round, or seasonal.

Alaska Airlines has been operating out of Tampa International Airport since 2014, originally offering nonstop flights to Seattle.

“This is a huge win for Tampa International Airport, providing us with a vital connection to the West Coast that we’ve been pursuing for years,” said Joe Lopano, CEO of Tampa International Airport, when the PDX service first launched in 2021. “Tampa Bay residents have been eagerly awaiting this service, and we’re thrilled that Alaska Airlines is expanding its presence here with these exciting new routes.”
San Francisco travelers are sure to be charmed by Golden Gate Park. In the winter months, it offers a serene escape. Stroll through the park’s lush gardens, visit the California Academy of Sciences, and explore the de Young Museum, where you can view diverse art collections.

Portland, Oregon is the land of books (we think about strolling Powell’s daily). Enjoy strolls along the waterfront, or head to the breathtaking Japanese Gardens before hitting up a Portland Trailblazers game.
Both West Coast cities also offer ample public transit, and tons of sight seeing opportunities.
