TPA adds new nonstop routes to historic Savannah, Georgia

For the first time ever Tampa International Airport (TPA) will offer nonstop service to historic Savannah, Georgia courtesy of Silver Airways. TPA made the announcement on February 23.

Silver Airways nonstop flights to Savannah, GA are scheduled to launch on April 2 with service twice a week. Round trip flights could run for less than $100, though the average one-way fare is $58.98.

So, what do you need to see and do in Savannah, Georgia?

The historic city is known for manicured parks, horse-drawn carriages and antebellum architecture. Its historic district is filled with cobblestoned squares and parks such as Forsyth Park shaded by oak trees covered with Spanish moss. At the center of this picturesque district is the landmark, Gothic-Revival Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.

Visitors would do well to visit Hilton Head Island, shop in the City Market, take a riverboat cruise, or take in some history aboard the Old Town Trolley.
