Good Graeff at Crowbar

Good Graeff will perform live at Crowbar Friday night. Made of twin sisters Brooke and Brit, Good Graeff (pronounced "grayf") creates powerful folk-charged indie pop that centers on Brooke's dynamic & original vocals and upbeat acoustic chord progressions, which are finessed into creative and memorable pop songs by Brit's melodic, classically influenced cello riffs. The group originated as a busking duo when the twins were 16, playing on street corners of Sarasota, FL, where they spent their teenage years. At 18, Brooke moved to Canada to become a foley artist (check out her imdb) and Brit studied marketing and international business then packed up her bags to travel around Europe and India, then eventually settled in Hanoi, Vietnam. Brooke joined her there in 2012, and Good Graeff was born into its second life, a little less than ten years later and ten thousand miles away, though again on a street corner. The band still retains a dedicated following in Vietnam. This is an 18+ show. Concert begins at 9pm. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.

Jammin' For X (Xavier Johnson) at Skipper's Smokehouse

Xavier or “X” is a starting linebacker and fullback on the Sunlake High School football team. His father, Ross Johnson, is a pastor at Gathering Pointe Church. At this time it is still too early to tell what the recovery process will include for X. With that said, the family plans to prepare for the longer and more difficult journey that X may have ahead of him.  The longer that journey is, the higher the cost will be to cover the care. Due to the lack of knowing how long the recovery process will be, any excess in funds will be set aside for Xavier’s college fund. The event begins at 5pm. There is a $10 minimum suggested donation.
