Instagramers of Tampa and Coast Bike Share InstaMEET

Please join Instagramers Tampa and our friends at Coast Bike Share this Friday! Meet at the Sail Pavillion and from ride through Ybor, through an industrial district, downtown, the Riverwalk/Curtis Hixon Park and finally back to the Sail Pavillion. The Brews and Bites event is also this night so plan to stick around after the ride for food trucks, drinks and live music. Follow this link to register. Meet at 6pm. Brews & Bites at The Sail

A rolling celebration of food and fun, Brews & Bites features a fleet of area food trucks, craft beers at The Sail's Beer Garden, and live entertainment from local musicians at the venue's unique 360-degree waterfront bar. Anthony Raneri of Bayside Solo Show at Crowbar

Bayside frontman Anthony Raneri will perform a solo show this Friday at Crowbar. With a tenured history in the music industry, Raneri has played all over the world. With indie, punk, hardcore and post rock influences Raneri's shows cannot easily be categorized. He'll be joined by What's Eating Gilbert? and Allison Weiss. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $15. Imagine Dragons at Amalie Arena

WMNF Presents Tropical Heatwave De Ja Vu at Skipper's Smokehouse

Trae Pierce and T Stone Band will be joined by Come Back Alice for an amazing night of live music. These two bands are some of the hottest acts performing through the Tampa Bay area and the state of Florida. Show begins at 8pm. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. SharkCon 2015 at Florida State Fairgrounds (Saturday & Sunday)

SharkCon is an event that brings those who love the ocean together for a weekend of education and the fun of a Comic Con. SharkCon has something for everyone who loves the ocean. SharkCon will have experts from the Discovery Channel Shark Week, National Geographic and the world of marine science. The show will have water sports clinics to teach our attendees how to paddle board, kayak, surf and fish. The show has over 80 vendors from different areas of ocean fun (scuba, live aboards, charters, clothing, fishing, books, jewelry, fossils, paddle boards, vacation destinations, and much more). We have exhibits from the Florida Aquarium (animals, fossils, educational material), Mote Marine Laboratory Mobile exhibit, , SeaWorld (fossils, examples, learning materials, shark photo options, more), Sharks from Ocean Creations, a shark ride(like the bucking horse), children’s coloring tables, the Mascot from the Clearwater Threshers, Aquaman, a showing of Jaws at the Tampa Theater, and even more. 10am-6pm on Saturday, 10am-5pm on Sunday. $15 for adults (advance) and $5 for kids 13 and under. $20 for adults at the door. Premiere Boxing Champions at The USF Sun Dome 

Keith Thurman has consistently shown his tremendous power by knocking out 18 of his first 19 opponents and since winning a world title in 2013, he has ascended to the very top of the sport’s elite class. The 26-year-old Clearwater, Florida native made three successful title defenses with wins over Jesus Soto Karass, Julio Diaz and Leonard Bundu. In his next bout, he debuted the Premier Boxing Champions series by defeating Robert Guerrero in a spectacular battle on March 7th. Thurman will return to the ring in his home state of Florida for the first time since 2009 when he faces Luis Collazo. The co-main event of the evening features an exciting matchup between undefeated top prospect Tony Harrison (21-0, 18 KOs) and quick fisted Willie Nelson (23-2-1, 13 KOs) in an event that will kick off live coverage of Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN. Shoeless Soul will host their EP release party at Skipper's Smokehouse. Show starts at 8pm. $6. Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road. 

 

Jaws at Tampa Theatre 

When pieces of a missing swimmer wash ashore on Amity Island, the Mayor of the quaint Atlantic resort town demands the predator be caught before it can ruin the 4th of July tourist season. Police Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) and visiting ichthyologist Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) suspect the worst, and team up with the only local fisherman willing to take on a Great White – the salty Quint (Robert Shaw). But when the enemy finally shows itself, it turns out to be a more formidable foe than any of them had imagined. Screening begins at 9:30pm. Tickets are $10. Blues In The Library 

Local Tampa Bay musicians from the Suncoast Blues Society will perform popular blues and folk songs at the library. Blues is a vocal and instrumental form of music based on the use of blue notes. It emerged in Black communities of the United States from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. Funded by the Friends of the Jan Platt Library. 3-4:30pm. FREE. 3910 South Manhattan Avenue.

 

Scotty McCreery at MidFlorida Credit Union

Winner of the 10th season of American Idol. His debut studio album, Clear as Day, was released in October 2011 and was certified platinum in the United States. He'll be joined by Rascal Flatts. Show begins at 7pm. Tickets from $18-$183. MidFlorida Credit Union Ampitheatre, 4802 US-301. 

 

Top Hat at Tampa Theatre 

"The classic screwball comedy features Fred Astaire as Jerry Travers, an American dancer who comes to London to star in a show produced by Horace Hardwick (Edward Everett Horton). One evening, Jerry practices his new dance steps late into the night in Horace's hotel room, much to the annoyance of sleeping model Dale Tremont (Ginger Rogers) in the room below. When she goes upstairs to complain, the attraction is immediate, but complications arise when Dale mistakes Jerry for his producer, Horace."
