We don’t want you to miss a darn thing, so we’ve compiled a quick list of all the events happening on May 1 and 2. Schedule your weekend plans accordingly, Tampa.

Taste of the Riverwalk

The signature event of Riverfest kicks off on Friday, May 1 at Curtis Hixon Park. A free concert series with beer trucks will begin at 4pm. The official foodie event kicks off at 6pm with a deluge of local flavors to sink your teeth into.

Follow the event online for a full list of confirmed food and drink vendors.

Tacofest at Curtis Hixon Park

Saturday, May 2 is all about the tacos. From 10am-8pm the top taco purveyors in Tampa Bay will be feeding Tampa ahead of Cinco De Mayo. Have a serious taco craving? There will be a taco eating contest during event to put your appetite to the test.

Taco wrist bands will be sold at 3 tacos for $10 and 5 tacos for $15.

Wiener Dog Derby

That’s right, adorable little wiener dogs running at Curtis Hixon Park. The derby takes place on May 2 and begins at 10am at Curtis Hixon Park. This is suspected to be the largest Dachshund gathering in the state of Florida.

Events planned for the day are the Best Nose, the Speed Trap, the Costume Contest, the Kissing Contest, the Best Tail contest and, of course, Dachshund Racing. Wiener dogs from the age of 4 months to 18 years old will race in many age categories.
