The Garrison Tavern prepares for opening at the Marriott Waterside

Something new and tasty this way comes. Yes, another day, another new restaurant in Tampa. Back in December 2018 it was announced that the Garrison Tavern would replace Champs inside the Marriott Waterside Hotel.

The restaurant has now begun small tasting events and could officially open its doors within the next several weeks.

Virtual Top Golf bays at the restaurant

It’s all the result of a partnership between the hotel and world-renowned chef and restauranteur Richard Sandoval, who is spearheading the hotel’s food and beverage overhaul as part of the property’s multi-phase renovation.

Visitors should expect a lot of comfort food on the menu. But beyond the food, two indoor Top Golf Bays make this a new mini arcade all downtown golfers need to experience.

20 local draft beers and four wines on tap will also be available to diners. Additionally, a signature beer brewed by Coppertail Brewery will be served exclusively in house and at the brewery, and Crowlers (canned Growlers) for sale of any beers on tap.

The menu is all about comfort food

Some menu teasers include chorizo-stuffed olives, Cuban sandwich sliders, Florida pink shrimp hand rolls, crispy beer battered grouper and Buffalo cauliflower.

A second concept from Sandoval includes a new outdoor terrace and bar at the hotel.
