Montados by Mise en Place, developed by restauranteur Maryann Ferenec and Chef Marty Blitz, the dynamic duo behind Tampa’s premier American restaurant Mise en Place, will join the food scene at Sparkman Wharf. Montados is a new concept developed by Ferenec and Blitz that will feature Spanish-style tapas and sharable plates.
Sparkman Wharf is the quintessential setting for tapas, creating the perfect opportunity for Mise en Place to extend its community restaurant persona. At Montados, Chef Marty Blitz and team will employ the authentic flavors of traditional tapas dishes giving them the occasional, modern twist. With the addition of five Spanish wines including cava and sangria, Montados offers the recipe for a good time.
Montados has already begun to bring people together. Ben Carson, a former employee of Mise en Place and now General Manager for Olé Imports, is collaborating with Chef Blitz and Maryann Ferenc. Carson’s love and knowledge of Spanish wines and traditions pairs perfectly with Chef Blitz’s penchant for big flavor and Ferenc’s passion for creating community around good food and drink.
Collectively, the dining garden concepts will celebrate great food and community, with inventive new ideas and menus not found anywhere else in the city. Montados will join Foundation Coffee, Whatever Pops, Gallito, and Boat Run Oyster Company within the dining garden at Sparkman Wharf.
