Tampa International Airport was named the best airport of its size in the country, and the facility also has the best bathroom in America. Money also named it one of the best places to travel in 2023. So it comes as no surprise to see that Wallethub’s recent data pull for the best places to travel this summer had Tampa in the top 10. The listing also includes neighboring St. Petersburg and Clearwater.
Wallethub’s list focused on several categories including affordability, access, ease of travel, amenities, and even broke down the average price to get a meal for two people. They analyzed 100 of the largest metro areas in the nation, and the Tampa area ranked seventh overall.

You can thank major attractions such as Busch Gardens and Adventure Island, ZooTampa and The Florida Aquarium as marquee attractions that put Tampa above other spots. Ease of access and frequency of travel to and from Tampa International Airport also aided in elevating our city above others. While fine dining is on the rise in Tampa, we have a pretty robust culinary scene that allows diners to enjoy great food on a budget.
