Tampa Ranks Among Top Cities with Fastest-Growing Incomes

The accolades continue to rain down on the city of Tampa. Our local economy has experienced a boom thanks in large part to the highly successful shop local movement, burgeoning craft beer scene, and internationally anticipated multi-billion dollar redevelopment of the Channelside District area, soon to be known as Water Street.

Not to mention the significant boost the city has enjoyed due to Tampa International Airport’s ever-expanding roster of nonstop routes to and from the biggest tech hubs in the US and abroad. All the hard work from our city officials has paid off. In a recent list compiled by Smart Asset, Tampa ranked as the city with the third fastest-growing income level — behind only Oakland and Miami.

Smart Asset arrived at their results by analyzing median household income data from 2015 and 2016. The average household here received a raise of around $6,000, going from earning $44,000 to $50,000.
