The annual MLK Day Parade in Tampa is a beautiful spectacle that takes over the city’s streets. Festivities start at noon on January 20 at Cuscaden Park (2900 N 15th Street). The parade will feature Grand Marshal Les Miller, former state representative and Hillsborough County commissioner.

This year’s parade, organized by the MLK Foundation, promises to be the most exciting yet. It will feature new entries from across the state and Caribbean, as well as nationally renowned bands such as the Bethune-Cookman Marching Wildcats and Edward Waters University Triple Threat Marching Band.

Strength to Love in the heart of Tampa

This year’s theme, “Strength to Love,” embodies Dr. King’s message of compassion and care for those in need, including the impoverished, unhoused, and jobless. Organizations like Metropolitan Ministries, Sulphur Springs YMCA, Abe Brown Ministries, and All Rise Foundation will be honored for aligning with this mission.

Florida Blue and TECO sponsor the MLK Jr. Parade. They lead the list of supporters, joined by Rebein Brothers Law, USAA, AT&T, Grow Financial, Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays, Bank of Tampa, Women’s Council of Bay Area Association of Realists, and media partner 101.5 The Vibe.

The parade begins at E 21st Ave and N 15th St, and ends at N 22nd Street and E Osborne Ave. Learn more about the parade on its official website.
