The hurricanes may have dampened Halloween proper, but the show goes on with this cannabis-themed Halloween bash coming to Tampa. Suncoast NORML, the Tampa Bay chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, is hosting the re-scheduled 2024 HalloWEED Costume Contest on Saturday, November 16, at Dignitary Café Tea & Kava House in South Tampa, located at 4817 S West Shore Blvd.
The party kicks off at 8 p.m., and tickets for this mega-sized party are completely free. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with live entertainment, music, and a highly anticipated cannabis-themed costume contest, “where creativity meets cause.” The original date was re-scheduled due to flood damage at Dignitary Cafe, so this cannabis-fueled bash serves as both an awareness event for cannabis regulation in Florida and a welcome-back party for the beloved cafe.
The contest will feature cash prizes, with a grand prize—a Puffco Peak Pro—for the top winner. All proceeds from the event will support Suncoast NORML’s advocacy efforts, backing campaigns like Yes on 3 and other initiatives aimed at reforming marijuana laws in Florida. Prizes and giveaways are provided by Chillum Mushroom and Hemp Dispensary. For a taste of what’s in store, check out this recap from last year’s party.
“Despite the recent setbacks, our resolve to advocate for cannabis reform in Florida is stronger than ever,” said Christopher Cano, Executive Director of Suncoast NORML. “This event embodies our mission—combining community, education, and a bit of Halloween fun to drive awareness and support for legalization efforts. We welcome everyone who believes in reform and community to join us for a fantastic evening.”
Since its founding in 2014, Suncoast NORML has tirelessly advocated for cannabis legalization in Florida, playing a pivotal role in medical marijuana campaigns and decriminalization efforts across the state. With HalloWEED 2024, they aim to raise awareness and funds for the cause, blending advocacy with a lighthearted cannabis-themed costume party.
Suncoast NORML invites all to join for a night of fun, advocacy, and support for cannabis reform in Florida. Learn more and get your free tickets to 2024 HalloWEED here.
