In response to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the City of Tampa is stepping up to offer laundry assistance for residents impacted by the storm. On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a “Wash Zone” will operate at 5235 South Dale Mabry Highway from 11am to 2pm.

This initiative, in partnership with local non-profit Current Initiatives, aims to support residents whose homes suffered flood damage, leaving them without a way to clean their clothes. The service is free and available to those affected by the hurricane.

The Laundry Project by Current Initiatives assists lower-income families with meeting a basic need – washing clothes and linens, by turning laundromats into community centers of hope. You can learn more about supporting their work year-round on their website.
