Major capital improvements are underway at the Tampa Convention Center — and it’s the venue’s largest renovation project in history. This $38 million Capital Improvement Plan is intended to create a better customer experience, increased efficiency, and cost savings. The project also includes upgrades to the Tampa Riverwalk outside of the Tampa Convention Center, such as new ADA ramps and environmentally-friendly LED lighting.
Tampa Riverwalk revelers may have noticed a new detour as they head toward the Sparkman Wharf area. Though that diversion lets you walk through the Lights on Tampa installation at the Franklin Street tunnel. The City of Tampa recently shared a behind-the-scenes tour of the construction – and work is moving steadily for a late June completion.
