After nearly two years of construction, the Tampa Riverwalk outside the Tampa Convention Center will officially reopen on Saturday, July 1 at 6am.
“This closure was necessary to ensure public safety as construction on our expansion was underway,” writes the Tampa Convention Center team on Facebook. “This project included improvements to the Riverwalk, such as ADA ramps and LED lighting. We are thrilled to announce construction was successfully completed by the deadline of June 30.”

Overall enhancements to the Convention Center include brand new renovated meeting spaces. Existing meeting spaces will undergo updates including new carpet, paint, new air wall fabric and upgraded lighting. Demolition will be planned for non-event hours and construction walls will surround work areas to provide a sound barrier for noise elimination.
Get ready to enjoy new waterfront meeting rooms. Spanning 16,000 square feet, this two-level addition will provide 18 new meeting rooms overlooking the Hillsborough River.
Already completed aspects of the project include Big Ray’s Fish Camp and the Sail Pavilion.
