2nd Annual Putts For Mutts Golf Tournament (Friday, June 12)

The Tampa Bay Bachelor Auction at Tampa Theatre (June 10)

SGE presents The Tampa Bay Bachelor Auction 2015, taking place at the historic Tampa Theatre for the first time and featuring a headlining performance by musical artist Matt Bellina. As Tampa’s most exciting benefit event, The Tampa Bay Bachelor Auction merges elegance, excitement and entertainment into a theatrical date auction-style spectacle. Sure to pack the house, this year’s show will be hosted by local personality Trent Mitchell and features a stacked roster the Bay area’s most enticing bachelors – ranging from athletes to service men, and everything in between. This year’s Tampa Bay Bachelor Auction proudly benefits the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Doors open at 6pm. Advance tickets are $25 at the Tampa Theatre Box office, $29 online through June 9. Day-of tickets are $33 at the box office, $37.50 online. Charity Challenge Indoor Golf Tournament at Golfer's Grail Indoor Golf and Tap

This event combines golf, “Beat the ’Pro’” contests featuring Shelton Quarles, fellowship, great food, wine and chocolate pairings, Chinese auction and raffles. The Shelton Quarles IMPACT Foundation provides opportunities and resources for at-risk single-parent families throughout the Tampa Bay Area and has raised over $500,000 and impacted more than 3,000 lives since its inception in 2004. Tampa Bay AAZK's 26th Annual Bowling for Rhinos at Pin Chasers Midtown

If you live in the Tampa area and you love animals as much as we do, your support of AAZK’s Bowling for Rhinos program can make a difference in worldwide conservation. Bowling for Rhinos is a family-friendly event that is organized by your local zookeepers. The event runs from 6-11pm. Heard Em Say 8 Year Anniversary Show at University of South Florida

“Heard ‘Em Say Teen Poetry”, Tampa’s only open-mic show established exclusively for teenagers, will be celebrating their 8 Year Anniversary with an epic poetry slam featuring teen poets from Heard ‘Em Say (Tampa, FL), The Write Community (Orlando, FL) and Jax Youth Poetry Slam (Jacksonville, FL)! The event begins at 7pm and goes until 10pm. Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for adults in advance, $15 for students, $25 for adults at the door. All proceeds go towards helping local teens attend the 2015 Brave New Voices International Poetry Festival in Atlanta. USF Gibbons Alumni Center, 4202 East Fowler Avenue. 

 

TFO Presents: Beethoven and Sibelius at Straz Center

Rossini’s Overture to Semiramide kicks off the concert with lively melodies, bursts of boundless energy and raucous rhythms prior to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8, brimming with infectious joy and sprightly themes. The evening closes with an intriguing, evolving sonic soundscape reflecting Sibelius’ reverence for and love of nature in his Symphony No. 5. Larry Rachleff conducts. Begins at 8pm. Kill Paris – Galaxies Between Us North American Tour at The AMP in Ybor

Kill Paris's sound can be defined as future funk. The electronic sensation arrives in Tampa this weekend for a show you can't miss. Show goes from 10pm-3am. Tickets are $10. Ampitheatre, 1609 East 7th Avenue. 

 

 

Hockey in Paradise: Game 7 Watch Party at Channelside Bay Plaza

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Rangers end their historic series Friday night at MSG. Watch the game from Tampa Bay with the community at Channelside Bay Plaza. The party begins at 6pm. Waterfront opens at 6:15pm. Puck drops at 8pm. Event is FREE and open to the public featuring live music, entertainment and giveaways. Channelside Bay Plaza, 615 Channelside Dive #117.

Hurricane Expo at MOSI

At the EXPO, attendees will learn what to do before, during and after a storm. Residents will learn the importance of having a solid disaster plan in place well in advance so that they can quickly recover after a storm. Additionally, MOSI’s S.T.E.A.M.punks will provide science demonstrations and activities, while the adults enjoy a variety of speakers and vendors. Attendees also will have the chance to win one of two Kindle Fire HDs. The Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo attendees will be able to attend question-and-answer weather panels, held at 11am and 1pm, to hear from meteorologists representing local news stations and the National Weather Service. Additionally, a public safety panel will be held at noon and a cybersecurity panel will be held at 2pm. Additional sessions on pet care and preparation techniques will also take place throughout the day. Runs from 10am-4pm. FREE admission. MOSI, 4801 East Fowler Avenue. 

 

Swing Into Action Golf Tournament at Westchase Golf Club

The University Area Community Development Corporation (UACDC) and The Caribbean American National Development Organization (CANDO) are hosting the 2nd annual Swing into Action! golf tournament. Lunch is provided. All proceeds will support UACDC programs benefiting children and families of the economically and socially vulnerable University Area as well as the educational, cultural and workforce development programs of the Caribbean community in the Tampa Bay region. Paws For A Cause at Seminole Heights United Methodist Church

Join the Animal Coalition of Tampa Bay at the Seminole Heights United Methodist Church as they raise money to build a new clinic. There will be food trucks, low cost vaccinations, dog wash, vendors, raffles and more! Event runs from 10am-2pm. Tickets are $25. Splash Sundays at The Epicurean Hotel

The Epicurean Hotel is once again hosting their epic Splash Sunday pool parties 15 weekends in a row beginning May 31. Each week Splash sponsors – Appleton Rum, Heineken Light and Just Grillin – will present a variety of rotating entertainment and activities ranging from poolside fashion shows and DJs to live music and craft cocktail specials. Scheduled entertainment for the first four weeks includes: May 31 – DJ LeSage, with fashion show from Don Me Now June 7 – Tribal Style – Reggae June 14 – The Sunsetters – Reggae/R&B/Jazzy Rock June 21 – Tidal Wave – Retro Surf Food and drinks, including craft cocktails will be available. Special overnight Florida resident rates at the Epicurean Hotel that include admission to Splash Sunday are available starting at $139. There are six SPLASH VIP reserved areas available for up to 10 guests. Includes a select location bordering the swimming pool, along with comfortable seating, sun umbrellas, a personal outdoor cooling system by Portacool, dedicated service and a pitcher of the hotel’s Crafted Skyy “Cocktail of the Week.” Cost is $275. Black on Black Rhyme Tampa at Alez Haitian Cuisine

This open mic happens on the last Sunday of each month. The event features music, poetry, food, love and drinks. The event begins at 8:30pm. $7 cover. Alez Haitian Cuisine, 1428 East Fletcher Avenue.
