Synergy Sweets, the award-winning Tampa bakery, is gearing up to open its new brick-and-mortar location this fall. While the original grand opening was set for September 27, Hurricane Helen caused a delay. Once the bakery opens at 4016 W Hillsborough Avenue, it will welcome customers from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The bakery is owned by Shonnika Denise, a multi-time champion of Tampa’s Dessert Wars and recent runner-up in the Dessert Wars National Championships. Denise has earned a devoted fan base with her mouth-watering cheesecakes and artfully crafted cupcakes. Her menu features popular items like red velvet stuffed cookies, churro cupcakes, Reese’s cheesecake, and Key Lime pie.

A culinary school graduate in 2015, Denise’s passion for baking was sparked by family gatherings where food played a central role in creating lasting memories. “I wanted to take control of the creative process with each new pastry,” Denise explained. “More importantly, I wanted the freedom to experiment with flavors and textures on my own terms. That’s how Synergy Sweets came to life.”

The bakery’s grand opening is eagerly anticipated by Tampa’s dessert lovers, promising to add a sweet new flavor to the city’s culinary landscape.
