Tampa Dessert Wars Champion opening brick-and-mortar bakery this September

Synergy Sweets, an award-winning Tampa bakery, is set to open the doors to its new brick-and-mortar on Friday, September 27. The new bakery, located at 4016 W Hillsborough Avenue, will be open from 11am to 9pm.

The bakery is owned by Shonnika Denise, a multi-time champion of Tampa’s Dessert Wars and a recent runner-up in the Dessert Wars National Championships. Known for her delicious cheesecakes and beautifully decorated cupcakes, Denise has also earned a loyal following for her red velvet stuffed cookies, churro cupcakes, Reese’s cheesecake, and Key Lime pie.

Denise, who graduated from culinary school in 2015, found her passion for baking through her family gatherings, where food always played a central role in creating cherished memories. “I wanted to take control of the creative process involved with each new pastry,” she shared. “Most of all, I wanted the freedom to explore mixing flavors and textures, all on my own terms. Thus, Synergy Sweets was born.”

The bakery’s grand opening is a highly anticipated event for Tampa’s dessert lovers, promising a sweet addition to the local culinary scene.
