2024 is going to be a big year for new restaurants and bars in Tampa. One of the first big 2024 debuts will be Streetlight Taco at 4004 Henderson Boulevard. According to its Instagram, the restaurant is set to soft open on January 9.

“Welcome to Streetlight Taco where the “molino” is the heartbeat of the kitchen as it grinds down heirloom Mexican corn by volcanic stones,” writes Streetlight on the restaurant’s website. “Our fresh ground masa is used for hand-pressed tortillas and other hand-formed shapes found throughout Mexico.”

Streetlight’s menu is carefully planned from the owners’ travels to the states of Mexico, Puebla, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Morelos, and Tlaxcala. They’re bringing a stronger-than-ever masa game to Tampa.

One teased dish includes a Cemita (Pueblan-style sandwich). This sandwich is served on a bun made by Jamison B Breadhouse with hand-stretched Oaxaca cheese, simmered chipotles in piloncillo, sliced fresh avocado, and hand-breaded chicken milanesa.
