Sephora opens new store in Midtown Tampa

Sephora, the beauty and self-care giant, has opened a brand new store in Midtown Tampa. The shop joins myriad other major names in the area. Recently, Shake Shack opened its doors to wild anticipation. REI, the outdoors superstore, was the first to add life to Midtown. Soon, Whole Foods will open a massive store on the property, and BellaBrava, a celebrated Italian restaurant, will open a space at Midtown. Plus, Ben & Jerry’s is working on a scoop shop in the neighborhood.

Currently, Sephora operates over 2,700 stores in 35 countries worldwide, with an expanding base of over 500 stores across the US. In 2019, Sephora announced a new tagline and manifesto, “We Belong to Something Beautiful,” to reinforce its dedication to “fostering belonging among all clients and employees and to publicly strive for a more inclusive vision for retail in the Americas,” according to the company’s website.

Sephora debuts new shop in booming Midtown Tampa

The company posted the following on opening day:

“Come in and share the beauty! Shop the best makeup, skincare, fragrance, and hair care in a space where all are welcome and what makes you unique is celebrated. Sephora. We Belong to Something Beautiful.”

Sephora officially opened at Midtown Tampa on June 21. It’s open from 11am-7pm Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and 11am-8pm on Saturday.

Major debuts planned for Midtown in 2021/22

Midtown is quickly evolving into a key food and drink destination in the Tampa Bay region. The popular Hall on Franklin will close its Franklin Street location to focus on the emergence of its large space at Midtown.

“The Hall on Franklin is moving to Midtown Tampa where we will be able to share our next-generation experience with you,” reads an Instagram post from the food hall.  “It will include outdoor seating, private dining, and enhanced service.”

William Dean Chocolates, a wildly popular chocolate concept renowned in the Tampa Bay region, will join Midtown Tampa in 2021. 

“We’re happy to announce new tenant, William Dean Chocolates to the best-in-class lineup at Midtown Tampa!” the developers wrote in a Facebook post. “Their decadent chocolates have impressed world-wide and their newest location in Midtown will not disappoint as it serves their signature artisan chocolates made with only the finest ingredients.”

Linking Tampa through food and entertainment

Linking Westshore to Downtown, the 22-acre Midtown Tampa project is centrally located and within minutes of many Tampa favorites, such as Raymond James Stadium, Amalie Arena, International Plaza, Westshore Plaza, University of Tampa and Hyde Park Village, as well as the Tampa International Airport and Tampa Convention Center. 

An authentic and new kind of urban experience, Midtown includes nearly 2 million square feet of retail space, residential living space, and office buildings, with ample parking and intuitive walkability.  A social hub for entertainment and hospitality, Midtown also features the central green space of Midtown Commons, the 3-acre Midtown Lake, and the Watercourse recreational trail.
