The Florida Orchestra is wrapping up its concert season with a community favorite—Pops in the Park—at River Tower Park in Tampa on Saturday, May 31. This free outdoor performance promises a night of unforgettable music, family-friendly fun, and meaningful community engagement, all set against the scenic backdrop of one of Tampa’s most beloved parks.
Conducted by TFO Resident Conductor Chelsea Gallo, the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature a crowd-pleasing mix of film scores, popular classics, and patriotic tunes, including the powerful 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky. It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind with a blanket and a picnic while enjoying an open-air celebration of music in the park.

A magical concert experience at River Tower Park
Guests are encouraged to arrive early for a variety of free, family-oriented activities starting at 6:30 p.m. The pre-concert festivities include interactive games with Tampa Bay Watch, arts and crafts hosted by the Tampa Museum of Art, and a hands-on Instrument Petting Zoo organized by The Florida Orchestra and staffed by volunteers from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. Kids can explore real instruments and ignite their musical curiosity in a fun, low-pressure setting.
Food trucks and Munchies Kettle Corn will be on-site, offering tasty options for parkgoers to enjoy throughout the evening. Attendees are also encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to donate to Feeding Tampa Bay, supporting local families in need.
A deep commitment to community connection
This event underscores The Florida Orchestra’s commitment to community connection. With more than 155,000 residents served each year—nearly half through free or low-cost programs—the orchestra continues to make music accessible to all. This event is sponsored by Raymond James Financial, with additional support from Suzette and Monroe Berkman for Conductor Chelsea Gallo’s role.
