Rene’s Mexican Restaurant will officially open at 2802 N 16th Ave in Tampa on August 15. The restaurant will be open from 9am-5pm that day, with more regular hours to be announced in the future. It’s described as a chef driven taqueria with true-to-Mexico cuisine and traditional and contemporary recipes from every region of the country.

Owner Rene Valenzuela is the same mind behind the original Taco Bus, so she has deep roots in the Tampa culinary community. This new Ybor taco joint will be ultra casual, and operate as more of a take out restaurant. There will be some outdoor seating available. You can also expect to find Rene’s on the regular food delivery apps once open.

This restaurant will feature a menu identical to Rene’s Food Truck (4414 N Nebraska Ave) in Seminole Heights. Diners will be able to enjoy pork barbacoa burritos, spicy shrimp, chille relleno tacos, oyster mushroom tacos, butternut squash burritos, flan, and more.

The expanded space will also allow Rene’s to enjoy a bit more storage for the Seminole Heights food truck. We imagine an expansion of the menu could take place after the brick-and-mortar officially opens. Keep up with Rene’s by following the food truck and restaurant on Facebook and Instagram.
