Popular St. Pete cocktail bar, Copper Shaker, opening in Ybor City

Talk about regionalism, y’all. Tampa’s own Armature Works and Hall on Franklin will open similar concepts in St. Petersburg in 2020. On the flip side, St. Pete-born restaurants like The Mill and Noble Crust have both set roots in the city of Tampa.

Now, Copper Shaker, a bustling cocktail bar in downtown St. Pete is looking to infuse Ybor City with a new kind of spirit. The bar will take over the former Flynn’s Retro Bar & Gaming at 1502 East 7th Avenue.

A coming soon sign on the window indicates the bar will open before the end of the year. The locally-owned business serves up more than just drinks. Copper Shaker’s menu is flush with savory appetizers.

Let’s hope they bring over the fried shiitake strips, hanging tender mojo steak, and the truffled shroom and onion flatbread.

As for the drinks, you can’t go wrong with smokestack. This cocktail features Whistle Pig Rye Whiskey, maple syrup, and creole and orange bitters. Oh yea, it’s smoked too.

The Mr. Tea is a total palate refresher, and a flavorful pick-me-up at the bar. Sip on a cocktail made with black tea infused bourbon, raw sugar, aromatic and peach bitters.

Keep up with everything happening with The Copper Shaker by following the kitchen and bar on Facebook and Instagram.

If you can’t wait to experience Copper Shaker, you can always pay it a visit in downtown St. Petersburg at 169 1st Avenue North.
