It’s that time of year again when corn mazes are in season. While the city of Tampa and most places in Florida may not show the full range of fall colors, with its burnt orange foliage and crisp mornings, we still enjoy the wild excitement of a day with a low temperature of 65 degrees. Despite this, there are several places in the Tampa area that offer residents a traditional New England fall experience. Two farms in Plant City, Keel Farms and Fox Squirrel, are doing just that.
Corky’s Corn Maze is open at Keel & Curley Winery (5202 Thonotosassa Rd) on weekends from October through November. The maze is open 10am-3pm on Saturdays, and 11am-3pm on Sundays, and it’s free to enjoy.

Harvest time has arrived at Keel Farms, too. They have activities for all ages including hay rides, Corky’s camel rides, a pumpkin patch, 30 craft and food vendors, pumpkin painting, kid zone by Rockin’ Bouncies, and special releases of fall wines, ales, and ciders. These activities run every Saturday and Sunday through October.
Fox Squirrel Corn Maze (6151 Varn Rd) is a Plant City tradition that runs every Saturday and Sunday from October 7 through November 5. The festivities include hay rides, the quintessential corn maze, games for kids and adults, food vendors, plus pumpkins and flowers for sale.
General admission tickets are $12 and can be reserved in advance online. Fox Squirrel opens at 10am and the gates close at 5pm. You can learn more about the festivities on its website.
