The Orpheum won’t renew lease in Ybor City

The owners of The Tampa Orpheum in Ybor City announced they won’t renew their lease this spring. Here’s he announcement from owners Jerry and Dave:

“After 20 years and thousands of shows The Orpheum will be bidding you all a fond farewell. We plan on moving into a new space in the Spring.Until then we hope to see you all at the shows we have coming up and hopefully we can have the best time ever. Each show is gonna feel a little more special knowing that it will be the last one in The Orpheum on 7th Avenue. Thank you all!”

The Orpheum has been showcasing live music and events for the better part of two decades. Many of today’s best known and emerging artists have graced The Orpheum’s stage. Alongside some of the best national and local live music in the market, The Orpheum plays host to professional wrestling, art shows, club events, charity fundraisers, and dance competitions.

No word yet on where The Orpheum might pop up next. Follow the venue on Facebook and its website to get ticket to the final shows, and to see what the future holds.
