Tampa International Airport and many Tampa residents have campaigned exhaustively for non-stop service from Tampa to the tech hub that is San Francisco. Janet Zink, Danny Valentine, Emily Nipps, Kari Goetz created the group #TPA2SF, which is dedicated to collecting testimonials from frequent travelers to the San Francisco area about how non-stop flights would benefit them and the city.
The group currently has 1,390 members. Their mission can be chalked up to a complete success. Later in the year, United Airlines will begin providing service from Tampa International Airport to San Francisco International Airport.
